Ram Power Ltd are a hydraulic manufacturing company providing effective solutions for all hydraulic applications. Ram Power Ltd was founded in 1974 to produce standard single acting and double acting rams and a standard range of clamping cylinders, air /oil intensifiers, etc. This 'Workholding' product range includes hollow spring return rams, block and threaded body cylinders and hand/capstan pumps.

The product lines have rapidly expanded as customer requirements for special cylinders have been satisfied. Single acting, double acting and telescopic rams from Ø25mm bore to Ø320mm bore having strokes up to 10 meters have been produced.

"The great advantage of being a relatively small manufacturer", says Director Alan Kirchin, "is flexibility. We can respond rapidly whether for standards or specials and one off or one hundred off. Its our versatility within a focused product range that has led to our wide market base".

The company's size is critical to its success; small enough to respond to individual requirements, but large enough to provide a high level of technical support and quality control. In house design expertise and manufacturing facilities exist for complete hydraulic and hydro-pneumatic systems. Turnkey solutions can be provided for all manner of lifts and special purpose equipment.

Innovation has frequently been the company's hallmark; non-rotating rods and offset load carrying on telescopic rams, developments in damping and synchronous rams number amongst the developments. Projects, such as the mathematical analysis of buckling in multistage rams and improvements in welding techniques, have been carried out during a long association with technical and academic institutions.
