Having difficulties in obtaining spares?

Ram Power Ltd have the ability to manufacture copies of hydraulic rams where people are having difficulties in obtaining spares. Recent applications have included Britannia Lifts Ltd actuators/ram. Ram Power Ltd manufactured a copy with all external dimensions as per the original sample previously supplied by Britannia Lifts Ltd. Internal dimensions will be in accordance to standard Ram Power Ltd design.

Ram Power Ltd was approached via our client to investigate and provide an effective solution for a basement fire door. The application was required to eliminate vandalism and drug use in the basement of a major high occupancy building in central London.

The problem presented to Ram Power Ltd was to provide a hydraulic fire door that would open freely in the event of an emergency.

Ram Power Ltd solved this problem by utilising a combination of hydraulic rams and specially designed spring struts. The result was a door that closed utilising hydraulic rams and was held in the closed position via leak free constantly energised poppet valves.

Various safety measures were incorporated into the design of the door that included automatic opening in the event of a power failure, vandalism or component failure. The door was also incorporated into the buildings existing fire alarm.

The opening of the gate was operated by the energised spring struts. The spring struts would automatically extend when the poppet valve was de-energised or any other part of the system was disrupted thus making the unit fail safe.

Various other features were added such as movement sensors and manual emergency stops on the stairway. The unit was also fitted with both visual and audio alarms.

We were able to offer our clients sophisticated controls that incorporated a modem sending 24-7 data to both the client and Ram Power Ltd . Sent information included maintenance checks such as oil levels, system pressures and performance data. The client used the modem to supply real time security observations of traffic both entering and exiting the building.
